POEMS ON DEMAND BY WESTWOOD POET LAUREATES, AT WESTWOOD DAY, SEPTEMBER 21
Westwood Poet Laureate Lynne Viti and Youth Poet Laureate Elizabeth Lowney will be writing POEMS ON DEMAND, tailored to each requester's wishes, at WESTWOOD DAY, Saturday, September 21.
Poetry fans, whether their preference is haiku, sonnet, limerick or free verse, will find the town's poet laureates banging away on a vintage atomic blue manual Smith Corona Galaxie XII typewriter. The poets will be stationed from 10:30 AM - 12:50PM. next to the Westwood Public Library booth. Each poem will be written on the spot and typed out on actual paper, one copy only, signed by the poet and suitable for framing.
Viti and Lowney will read poems from the main soundstage at approximately 1:00 PM, so be there for a short but sweet performance of Westwood themed poems. Clapping, whistling, cheering and finger snapping optional-- but appreciated..
