For the second year in a row, Westwood Artists, First Parish of Westwood and First Baptist Church of Westwood are coordinating their traditions of holding fairs in the month of December, and will jointly host the 2nd annual Westwood Holiday Walkabout, to be held on December 7, 2024.

All three fairs will be located within easy walking distance, and each will be hosting local artists, artisans, crafters, food and music. The Mass Appeal Boston a capella singers will be making the rounds, performing live choral music at each site.

First Baptist Church Holly Fair
808 High Street
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Site number 1 on the map, the First Baptist Church’s Holly Fair will feature items made by the Crafters’ Group at the church as well as the always popular attic treasures, baked goods, and gently used jewelry. There will be several local vendors displaying their wares, and a hot lunch will be available.

Westwood Artists December Marketplace
Fisher School, Westwood Historical Society, 830 High Street
10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

At site 2, right next door at the Historical Society’s Fisher School, Westwood Artists will be holding its December Marketplace. Ten Westwood resident artisans (Carol Ahearn, Karen Cagan, Lisa WB Walker, Jane Wojick, Betsy Husted, Cynthia Senerchia, Lexi Jackson, Maureen Obey, Michael Manning, and Arlene Fafara) will be showing and selling a wide range of hand-crafted items in a range of media, including painting, photography, jewelry, pottery and ceramics, baby knits, felt, and collage.

The Fisher School itself is worth a look.  The location is an antique one-room schoolhouse with beautiful original wallpaper.

First Parish Church Christmas Fair
252 Nahatan Street
9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Site 3 is round the corner and up the hill. The First Parish Christmas Fair will include wreaths, Christmas cookies, a silent auction, and gently used Christmas ornaments and decorations. Local artisans will be in attendance selling their hand-crafted items. The kitchen crew will be serving up freshly made to-go orders of hot soups and chili.

Event organizers from the three groups have indicated their excitement at once again collaborating to bring this local holiday celebration to Westwood.
