Deadline to Apply to be Westwood’s Next Poet Laureate is January 8

January 8, 2025, is the deadline for applications to be the next Poet Laureate of Westwood. This honorary position requires a love of poetry and the writing of poetry and the desire to spread an appreciation for the poetic art throughout the town of Westwood, through poetry events, publication of original poems on the Westwood Library website, poetry workshops and readings at the Westwood library and in the schools, and original occasional poems for town holidays such as Memorial Day, town Founding Day, Westwood Day, and Veteran's Day.

The position includes a stipend of $500 from the Westwood Library 21st Century Fund.

Poets who live or work in Westwood are eligible.Previous publication of the poet’s work is not a requirement for the position.
