Norfolk County Sheriff Celebrates Swearing in of 14 Correctional Officers at the Historic Endicott Estate

Dedham, MA – Norfolk County Sheriff Patrick W. McDermott has announced the graduation of fourteen new correctional officers from the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy, officers from NSO 24-02 who were celebrated in a ceremony held Thursday, January 30th at the historic Endicott Estate in Dedham.
“What each of these officers brings to this career will be amplified by the training and skills they have all received in our rigorous and demanding academy,” said Sheriff McDermott. “Their determination and diligence should be recognized and I am excited to welcome them into our ranks.”
Sheriff McDermott also offered high praise for his academy training staff, led by Commander Captain Francis Reynolds.
NSO 24-02 Academy Class Leader Ryan Boretti spoke on behalf of the class and thanked the academy’s instructors.
“We’ve face[d] challenges, both physical and mental and emerged stronger because of them,” said Officer Boretti. “Most importantly we’ve learned that true success in this profession comes from our integrity, our compassion and our unwavering dedication to doing what’s right.”
The officers were joined by dozens of their proud families and friends.
“I take great pride in the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff McDermott. “Our excellence stems from the quality and measure of the men and women who work here, and in their commitment to the public safety needs of the people of Norfolk County.”

The Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office training academy staff consists of:

- Assistant Commander Lieutenant Todd DeBoer
- Field Training Officer Ryan Howell
- Fitness Instructor Officer Stevie Orton
Former American Idol finalist Ayla Brown was featured during the academy graduation, singing both The Star Spangled Banner, and God Bless America.
