Westwood inaugural Poet Laureate Lynne Viti has been awarded second prize in the 2025 Joe Gouveia Outermost Poetry Contest, regional category, for her poem “Little Skate on Ballston Beach.” The annual contest, sponsored by Outermost Community radio WOMR, honors the legacy of the late Cape Cod Poet Laureate Joe Gouveia and his dedication to the poetry community. Esteemed judge Marge Piercy selected the winners and finalists in both the national and regional categories.
