Thanks to Dedham-Westwood Water District for contributing this news to Westwood Minute.
Dedham, MA—Effective Monday, March 24, the Dedham-Westwood Water District will close its office to the public for approximately four months while construction is underway for the 50 Elm Street, Dedham, Storage Facility and Site Improvements Project.
The District must close the office to the public, as the project will significantly exacerbate the already limited amount of parking available for employees and customers.
“Unfortunately, we are losing almost three-quarters of our facility’s parking spaces during construction,” said Executive Director Blake Lukis. “It will not be feasible or safe to have all our employees, the contractor, subcontractors, and the public on-site without adequate parking.”
Staff will remain fully available during routine business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to assist with needs or inquiries. Customers who need to conduct routine business in person can request an appointment through our website or by calling 781-329-7090.
Customers who pay their water bills in person can utilize the drive-through payment box. Alternatively, they can choose from one of the multiple options listed online.

The cost of $27,000 could have been avoided if the tax payers were notified about the idea of taking the WLT to court and it was discussed at a regular town meeting. Especially when a town takes the unusual step of taking its own land trust to court.
