April is National Poetry Month, and Westwood Poet Laureate Lynne Viti and the Westwood Library Tuesday Evening Poets are celebrating this annual event with the publication of their pocket-sized collection of poems, 15 Poems in Your Pocket. In the past two weeks, Viti and several of the workshop poets have distributed over 100 copies of the Microchapbook to Westwood town departments from DPW to the Board of Health, houses of worship, Hale Reservation offices and school and public librarians.
Contributing poets are Jan Brogan, Debra David, Mike Dwyer. Gail Mann, Avi Glaser, Marilyn Gove, Elizabeth Johnston, Lynne Viti, Brian Mich, Karen Michelson and Sherri Stepakoff. Look for copies of these on display at the Westwood Public library, main and Islington branch.
This project was funded in part by Viti’s 2025 grant for Poetry in the School and in the Community, from the Westwood and Massachusetts Cultural Councils.
