Below is a selection of easy to access, local events around Westwood to help you plan for your weekend.

Friday, August 27th

The Goonies Pop-up Drive-in Movie, Medfield State Hospital, 45 Hospital Road, Medfield. 8:00 p.m. Coolidge Corner Theatre is projecting Steven Spielberg's '80s adventure film on a 40 foot inflatable screen with equipment provided by Boston Light and Sound. Tickets are $65 per vehicle, and are available here. A portion of the proceeds will be used for the care and maintenance of Medfield State Hospital.

Saturday, August 28th

Impressionism and the Golden Age of Art: Musee D'Orsay Virtual Tour, Online event. 1:30 p.m. In this hour long online tour, licensed local guides lead you in a virtual experience of visiting the Musee d'Orsay. Works to be discussed include Manet's Luncheon on the Grass, Monet's Blue Water Lilies and works by Degas, Renoir, Cezanne and Van Gogh. Tickets are $15 plus a small fee, and can be purchased here.

Monster Jam, Gillette Stadium, One Patriot Place, Foxborough. 2:30 p.m. Pit Party and 7 p.m. Main Event. In this exciting motorsports event, 12,000 pound Monster Trucks will compete in Freestyle, the Skills Challenge, and Racing. Concert on the Lawn: Beatles for Sale, Francis William Bird Park, Polley Lane, Walpole. 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Beatles for Sale is an award-winning Beatles tribute band that will play outdoors this Saturday at Bird Park's Music Court lawn (stone stage). Bring your lawn chair or blanket. The cost is free and no registration is required. For more information, click here.

Circus Smirkus Live Circus Demonstration and Movie, Hyde Community Center, 90 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands. 6:30 p.m. Circus Smirkus is a non-profit based in Greensboro, Vermont, encouraging youth to gain the skills, culture and tradition of traveling circus arts. The Circus Smirkus playground opens at 6:30 p.m. for hands-on experience with circus props. At 7 p.m., Smirkus troupers will perform a live circus demonstration, followed by an outdoor showing of the 2021 movie, Flare, a Campfire Story, which was created and performed by circus performers. A donation of $10 is suggested.

Sunday, August 29th 

The Breakers Live at Lookout Farm, Lookout Farm, South Natick. 5:30 p.m. The Breakers, a Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tribute band, play this Sunday after their performance of August 22nd was cancelled due to Tropical Storm Henri. While enjoying the live performance, audience members can experience an outdoor farm dining experience. Lookout Farm craft beer, hard cider, and New England cuisine is available for purchase. Tickets are available here. The cost is $90 for a small table for up to 3 people, $180 for a large table for up to 6, or $270 for a premium table for up to 6.
