Below are ways to participate in upcoming meetings of town government. Of particular interest this week:

  • Monday: Select Board discusses proposed articles for 2022 Annual Town Meeting, appoints members to the Charter Review Committee, and reviews a Hale Task Force Report
  • Wednesday: A public hearing will be held to determine whether a dog is a dangerous dog or a nuisance
  • Thursday: Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Committee discusses a Gay Street sidewalk

Dog Hearing in-person, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. This public hearing will be held at the Westwood Police Station in the Jaillet Meeting Room at 588 High Street in Westwood. The public may attend to provide comment on whether a dog named Aspen, that belongs to James Weatherbee of 18 Westview Terrace, should be considered a nuisance or a dangerous dog pursuant to Massachusetts General Law Chapter 140, Section 157.

Conservation Commission Public Hearings and Meeting via Zoom, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. Public hearings will be conducted on an application to reconstruct a garage and install electrical poles and lines for service at 346 Gay Street, new construction at 748 Gay Street, and backyard enhancements at 20 Wildwood Drive. Action will also be taken on a request for extension atwestw 34 Woodland Road and a request to withdraw a notice of intent at 375 University Avenue.

School Committee Meeting in-person, Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. This in-person meeting will be held at Westwood Public Schools District Administration, Professional Development Room, 220 Nahatan Street in Westwood. The only item on School Committee’s agenda is a roll-call vote to enter Executive Session to discuss collective bargaining and pending litigation. The committee will not return to Open Session following the Executive Session.


Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Committee Meeting via Zoom, Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. To be discussed are updates from Police, Public Works, and Planning, new members, Gay Street sidewalk, and Westwood Community Trails.
