Fatal Accident on Walpole Street in Dover, Early Saturday Morning, Feb. 12th (Updated)

On Saturday, February 12, 2022, Dover Police responded to the scene of a one-car crash on Walpole Street near the intersection of Powder House Road, following multiple 911 calls to the Town of Dover Communications Center around 1:10 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found the driver, 18 year-old Owen Bingham from Sherborn, ejected from the vehicle, a 2016 Honda CRV. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Bingham was a co-captain of Dover-Sherborn High School's golf team.

Mr. Bingham had lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons, and the vehicle left the roadway, striking a guardrail. It came to rest against a tree.

Four passengers sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported for medical attention. They were an 18 year-old male from Dover, an 18 year-old male from Sherborn, and two 17 year-old males from Dover.
