Thanks to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts for sharing this news with Westwood Minute.
On Thursday, September 29, 2022, about 2,800 employees of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) volunteered across the state in support of 90 different service projects as part of its 12th annual Service Day, the company's largest event. Volunteer opportunities were both in-person and virtual.
In Westwood, about 20 BCBSMA employees made their way to the South Shore Stars camp site at Hale Education. There, they cleaned up the camp site, preparing it for winter.
Thanks to BCBSMA for sharing these photos of the day!

Sunny, with a high of 91 and low of 63 degrees. Sunny for the morning, partly cloudy during the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
This needed to happen 5 years ago. But now the real wrangling begins as MPT will fight to get as much $$$ as they can from the state as possible”just compensation.”
I appreciate all of the work and time that the FS1 Steering Committee and Select Board have put into this process. I've also noticed a big difference in communication around this from the town on Facebook and Westwood Wire. This feels like a much different process than the first time around.
Combing the FS1 vote with the general election makes a ton of sense, and in fact, makes me wonder why not do this will ALL elections instead of holding town elections in April?
Just a reminder that you can e-mail the FS1 Committee at FS1Committee@westwoodma.gov with questions/feedback, etc.
Two different votes for the Project?
First one in October for 'site selection, budget, and funding sources' for a new FS1.
Then, a November vote for 'designing, constructing, equipping, and furnishing' of a new FS1.
Seems repetitive.
