The Open Book Coffeehouse kicks off the new year with a live, in-person concert on Saturday evening, January 21, 2023, featuring wife and husband folk duo Anderson-Gram. Attendees can enjoy music, hot coffee, and home baked goodies.

Gayle Anderson-Gram and Bob Gram are both natives of Massachusetts. They met at one of those ubiquitous open mics on the North Shore in 1990. They eventually started to play open mike concerts the following year, and a few years later, released their first album, Watercolors. They married in 1997 and released their second CD, Where It All Begins in 2001 - containing all originals except for one song (“Give Yourself to Love”) written by Kate Wolf.

They began to travel around, honing their craft at various music festivals. In 2011, they released their third CD, On This Ride. It contains six Anderson-Gram originals and tunes by some favorite artists (Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, Nanci Griffith, Peter Gabriel). Since then, they have released their fourth and fifth albums, Cover to Cover and tides & embers, all while performing and traveling between the east and the west coasts.

“Gayle and Bob are winners ...beautifully crafted melodies, supported by strong harmony and tight arrangements with lyrics that stand by themselves," said Roger Ebacher of Rebach Music Recording, Newburyport, MA.

The Open Book Coffeehouse is located in the community room of the Canton Public Library at 786 Washington Street, Canton, and is made possible by the Friends of the Library. Doors open at 6:45 PM; music starts at 7:30 PM. Admission is $12 for the general public and $6 for students of any age. Tickets are available that evening only on a first come, first serve basis.

Parking is to the left when facing the library from Washington Street. Enter by the "Special Events" door to the left of the columns, midway into the parking area.
