Westwood's Select Board has announced and approved dates for two upcoming events of interest to many in town - Westwood Day 2023 and the annual, tradition of a Westwood Little League Parade. Get ready to mark your calendars!
Westwood Day will be held September 23, 2023, rain or shine. Event attendees and organizers have experienced both wet and sunshine -- this year, we'll hope for more of the latter!
The Westwood Little League Parade will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Organization leaders expect the format to the similar to past years, with the addition of a DJ and music. Parade participants will gather at Hanlon School, leaving that location at 9:00 a.m. The parade ends a short distance away at Morrison Field, where there will be a ceremony and activities like a dunk tank. The softball league is also expected to join in the activities at Morrison Field.
Updated 3/11/2023. A typo in the date for the Westwood Little League Parade has been corrected from a "1" to a "2". The correct date is April 29, 2023.
Sunny, with a high of 91 and low of 63 degrees. Sunny in the morning, partly cloudy during the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
This needed to happen 5 years ago. But now the real wrangling begins as MPT will fight to get as much $$$ as they can from the state as possible”just compensation.”
I appreciate all of the work and time that the FS1 Steering Committee and Select Board have put into this process. I've also noticed a big difference in communication around this from the town on Facebook and Westwood Wire. This feels like a much different process than the first time around.
Combing the FS1 vote with the general election makes a ton of sense, and in fact, makes me wonder why not do this will ALL elections instead of holding town elections in April?
Just a reminder that you can e-mail the FS1 Committee at FS1Committee@westwoodma.gov with questions/feedback, etc.
Two different votes for the Project?
First one in October for 'site selection, budget, and funding sources' for a new FS1.
Then, a November vote for 'designing, constructing, equipping, and furnishing' of a new FS1.
Seems repetitive.
