Westwood Community Chest (WCC) is now accepting applications for campership awards, which are financial aid awards of up to $800 per child to help Westwood families send their children to summer camp.
Eligible recipients are children residing in Westwood who are in kindergarten to twelfth grade. WCC makes payment directly to the summer camp on a prospective basis. WCC is unable to reimburse for camp fees already paid.
WCC's campership awards provide up to $800 per child in a financial assistance program that is separate from WCC's short-term financial crisis award grants. The latter program provides temporary financial assistance to Westwood residents for expenses such as utility service, housing, transportation and medicine.
WCC reviews campership applications at several different times during the year. March campership awards have been granted, but upcoming deadlines are April 19, 2023 and May 19, 2023 for the next two award cycles. Sunny, with a high of 48 and low of 23 degrees. Sunny during the morning, partly cloudy for the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
I completely agree. Washington St. also has some terrible patches, especially the handicap ramps. I don’t understand why the DPW is responsible for clearing sidewalks in front of homes and businesses. It seems that those should be the responsibility of the property owner.
The sidewalks on High Rock and Hartford have been pretty treacherous this winter too. I didn't contact DPW about it though.
