Westwood Day in Need of Adult Volunteers

Westwood Recreation has put out the call for community assistance with Westwood Day, which is in need of adult volunteers on the day of the event, Saturday, September 23, to help facilitate the Town of Westwood's biggest annual celebratory event.

Volunteers will receive a free event tee-shirt and earn the satisfaction of helping their community create a successful event. Volunteers can sign up in 2.5 to 3.5 hour shifts to help with any listed task for Saturday on an online sign-up sheet

At the time of this posting, Westwood Day still needs adult staffing for the following:

5:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. 

  • Pre-event set-up

7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. 

  • Parking

8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. 

  • 5K & Fun Run

9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 

  • Parking
  • Rock wall striker
  • Stage help/Food court
  • Info table check-in
  • Roaming Railroad 
  • Welcome Tent #1
  • Welcome Tent #2
  • Backstage security
  • Activities

12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

  • Parking
  • Rock wall and High striker
  • Stage help/Food court
  • Info table/Volunteer check-in
  • Pumpkin decorating
  • Roaming railroad
  • Backstage security
  • Activities

2:30 - 5:30 p.m. 

  • Clean-up

Interested volunteers can use SignUpGenius to sign up online or contact organizer Angela Lassig at alassig@townhall.westwood.ma.us or by phone at 781-461-0070. Volunteers will also be asked to complete a CORI form, available here.
