With the closure of the St. Pauly's clothing donation drop-off location at First Baptist Church of Westwood on August 11, 2023, community members should be aware of yet another donation collection spot in close proximity, making clothing donation drop-offs possibly as convenient as before.
The Westwood Catholic Conference of St. Vincent de Paul has placed a clothing collection bin in the St. Margaret Mary Church parking lot (next to the shed) located at 845 High Street, according to Ken Foscaldo, member of St. Margaret Mary Church.
Westwood Minute notes that the St. Margaret Mary Church collection point is about a quarter mile away from where the clothing shed was located at First Baptist Church of Westwood. Community members can drop off clothing donations at the St. Mary's collection site, which is a mere six minute walk, or couple minutes drive, from First Baptist.
Mr. Foscaldo notes that only clean clothes can be accepted. Please do not drop off electronics, books, or furniture.
Additionally, First Congregational Church in Norwood, located at 100 Winter Street in Norwood, has a St. Pauly Textile shed in its parking lot, and is another alternative for ensuring that old clothes can be repurposed and used.
Thanks to Ken Foscaldo for contributing information for this Westwood Minute article.
I completely agree. Washington St. also has some terrible patches, especially the handicap ramps. I don’t understand why the DPW is responsible for clearing sidewalks in front of homes and businesses. It seems that those should be the responsibility of the property owner.
The sidewalks on High Rock and Hartford have been pretty treacherous this winter too. I didn't contact DPW about it though.

A true hero, though I'm not sure about the naming of the intersection after him. We already have a school named after him. Is there no one else who dedicated their life to this Town that the intersection could be named in memory of?
Thanks for the comment. Perhaps other candidates for a named intersection might be considered by the Select Board if presented with a petition or similar process as what was used here.
