What You Need to Know for Westwood Day, Saturday September 23rd (Updated)

Westwood Day is finally here! To help you navigate this 5 hour-long, relatively large event, Westwood Minute has compiled need-to-know information, in an easy to access form.

(BTW: Westwood Day is off to a good start, with the Westwood Wolverines winning Friday night's football game against the Quincy Presidents, 35-14! The scheduled fireworks that followed were not just festive, but celebratory.)

On Saturday, other than a 5K Road Race that begins at 9:00 a.m., the entire event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of Westwood High School, located at 200 Nahatan Street in Westwood. Try to get through all your Westwood Day activities before 2:30 p.m, since in past years, many vendors are already packing up  by then.

Another reason to get there early on Saturday --rain. A smaller chance of rain from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. later becomes a 80 percent to 100 percent chance by 2:00 p.m. However, event organizers have repeatedly said that activities will continue, rain or shine.

Here's a look at the programming and activities, below.

Updated 9/23/2023 at 10:40 p.m. A prior version of this article incorrectly referred to Westwood's football competitor as the "Patriots" and the reference is corrected to "Presidents." Additionally, a typographical mistake in the final football game score has been corrected from "35-17" to "35-14."
