Following snowfall of Sunday night, January 7th, snowfall was measured at weather reporting stations in Westwood and the local area as of the morning of Monday, January 8, 2024:
Westwood: 4.0 inches
Norwood: 5.0 inches
Foxborough: 4.3 inches (average)
Millis: 4.5 inches
Sunny, with a high of 91 and low of 63 degrees. Sunny in the morning, partly cloudy for the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
This needed to happen 5 years ago. But now the real wrangling begins as MPT will fight to get as much $$$ as they can from the state as possible”just compensation.”
I appreciate all of the work and time that the FS1 Steering Committee and Select Board have put into this process. I've also noticed a big difference in communication around this from the town on Facebook and Westwood Wire. This feels like a much different process than the first time around.
Combing the FS1 vote with the general election makes a ton of sense, and in fact, makes me wonder why not do this will ALL elections instead of holding town elections in April?

Two different votes for the Project?
First one in October for 'site selection, budget, and funding sources' for a new FS1.
Then, a November vote for 'designing, constructing, equipping, and furnishing' of a new FS1.
Seems repetitive.
