Elderly Pedestrian Struck by Pickup Truck

On Thursday, January 4, 2024, around 2:50 p.m., Westwood Police received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of Roche Bros. supermarket on Washington Street in Westwood. 

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 70 year-old man from West Roxbury backed his Toyota pickup truck out of a parking space abruptly. In doing so, his vehicle struck an elderly Westwood resident who was walking in the parking lot. The truck knocked the woman down and reportedly ran over her. 

The 82 year-old victim received serious injuries. She was transported by Westwood Fire paramedics to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. 

Charges were not yet available at the time of posting this article.
