The rains of Tuesday night, January 9th, melted away what remained of the approximate 4 inches of snow that fell over the weekend in Westwood, but the water has overwhelmed the drainage system on a portion of Arcadia Road.
On Wednesday, January 10th, the dead-end street is flooded at its end, as street drains appear unable to handle the recent snow melt plus rain. Water is spouting out of the street drains, which appear filled to capacity. The water is not deep, however, and residents are able to drive through the flooded portion of Arcadia Road.

Gabriel, a neighborhood dog, inspects with interest the flooded portion of Westwood's Arcadia Road.Additionally, in the nearby neighborhood of Pond Plain Road, water can be seen gushing for a few seconds out of the sides of some homes, where it appears that sump pumps are working to clear water from inside.
