Charles Goodman, Westwood High School Class of 2026, is the newly appointed Youth Poet Laureate of Westwood. He was preceded in this role by Lucie Sechler, Westwood High Class of 2024 and currently a studnet at University College, Dublin, Ireland, and Elizabeth Lowney, an eleventh grader at Westwood High. For the next year, Goodman will be working with Beth Swinning, who began her two-year term as Westwood's second poet laureate this month.

Working under the mentorship of the town Poet Laureate, the Youth Poet Laureate publishes and presents original poems in various community venues, especially schools, libraries and special events such as Westwood Day and Memorial Day.
