As of August 29th, Massachusetts has updated its data for arbovirus risk levels in municipalities throughout the Commonwealth, with the result that the risk for the local Westwood area is currently assessed as “moderate” for West Nile Virus, and in the range of “remote” to “low” for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.
Westwood Minute has excerpted local data from the state’s risk assessment for WNV and EEE, and has compiled it into the following table:

On August 19th positive samples for WNV were found in mosquitoes in Norwood and also in Walpole.
On July 28th, two positive samples for WNV were found in Canton.
