Norwood Police Arrest Dedham Man on Fentanyl Trafficking Charges
A Dedham man has been arrested by Norwood Police detectives on numerous fentanyl trafficking charges as a result of a joint investigation with members of law enforcement from Boston Police, Norfolk County, and the federal government, announced Norwood Chief of Police Christopher Padden on Friday, October 10th.
Angel Manuel Class, age 26, of Dedham, was arrested on Friday and charged with nine counts of trafficking fentanyl and a count of conspiracy to violate the drug laws. He was arraigned that same day in Dedham District Court and held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. In Massachusetts, a dangerousness hearing can be requested by the prosecutor for certain offenses, which allows for the pre-trial detention of a defendant who is still presumed innocent.
The arrest of Mr. Class was the result of a coordinated investigation by local, county, and federal law enforcement which has been focused on the distribution of fentanyl and other dangerous narcotics in the region. Working alongside Norwood Police detectives were members of the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime Task Force, Boston Police District Drug Control Unit, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
