Following an incident on October 5, 2025 in Westwood and nearby communities when an organized group of individuals travelling in over 100 vehicles participated in a “street takeover,” causing disruption, disturbance, and safety concerns by occupying streets and other public spaces, 17 individuals have been charged in connection with that event, announced Randolph Police Chief Anthony Marag on Tuesday, April 21.

"Street takeovers create dangerous conditions for everyone involved, including the responding officers, anyone traveling in that area and residents who live nearby," said Chief Anthony Marag. "This case required extensive investigative work and strong coordination between multiple law enforcement agencies. I commend our detectives for the time and effort they put into identifying those responsible, and I also want to recognize the patrol officers who faced a volatile situation that night and continued working to keep the community safe."

Some of the suspects have warrants for their arrest, and some were issued summons. A number were scheduled to be in Quincy District Court for arraignment on Wednesday, April 22.

It was around 3:20 a.m. on the first Sunday of October when Westwood Police responded to reports that around 100 vehicles were gathered at Westwood’s University Station, doing donuts. Responding police found about 30 vehicles leaving the area peacefully.

A few hours earlier that same morning, Randolph Police encountered a rowdier crowd. Chief Marag recounts that his officers found about 100 people in the roadway of the intersection of North Main and Oak streets in Randolph, as vehicles performed drifting maneuvers, donuts, and dangerous stunts. Participants blocked intersections to allow drivers to perform the stunts, and masked spectators recorded videos for social media, he said.

The Randolph Police officer who was first to arrive at the scene was surrounded by a swarm of individuals who struck the car, blocked its path, and ignited fireworks on top of the cruiser and in the street, said Chief Marag.

Following an extensive investigation that included review of video footage from cruiser dash cameras, nearby businesses, and social media, police obtained a search warrant for Instagram accounts owned by individuals believed to be connected to the events. The search resulted in recovering messages where organizers shared locations of the gatherings and instructed and encouraged spectators to impede police, said Chief Marag.

Of the 17 suspects charged, 16 are between the ages of 19 to 23 years of age and one suspect is 31 years old.

Eleven of the suspects being charged reside in the Commonwealth. Nathanial Jaymoni Urbaez, age 22, of Dedham, is charged with conspiracy, disguising to obstruct justice, disorderly conduct, and interfering with a police officer. Divine Truth Norris Niles, age 23, of Roxbury, Massachusetts Nazeem Vincent McLeod, age 20, of Worcester, Massachusetts, are charged with conspiracy, disorderly conduct, and interfering with a police officer. C. Anthony R. Llenas, age 23, of Boston, is charged with conspiracy and disorderly conduct. Nahom Daniel Brook, age 23, of Boston, is charged with conspiracy and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Other suspects hailing from this state reside in Taunton, Springfield, Leicester, and Fitchburg.

Six of the suspects being charged are from outside Massachusetts: New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Maine.
