Sunday, December 12th

Around twenty carolers from First Parish of Westwood visited the Westwood Police Station on Sunday evening.

They also planned to visit Westwood Fire Station (High Street location) and the home of a parishioner. After caroling, the group planned to head to the church for a pizza party. 


Monday, December 13th

7:00 p.m.  Board of Library Trustees remote meeting includes updates on the newly constructed Wentworth Hall, now open for business, and the Islington Branch Library.

7:30 p.m. Historical Commission holds a public hearing on demolishing single family residence at 552 Gay Street, constructed circa 1759.


Tuesday, December 14th

7:00 p.m. Free Winter Concert by Thurston Middle School 8th grade band, Westwood High School Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band.

7:00 p.m. Ted Reinsten Author Talk at Westwood Public Library

7:00 p.m. Westwood Planning Board meets for a public work session on drafting zoning amendments to the Obed Baker House, to create a multi-family housing district, and to make changes to installations of solar arrays


Wednesday, December 15th

* The Council on Aging’s Annual Basket Fundraiser ends today. Interested participants can stop by to purchase raffle tickets to be entered to win gift baskets that are on display at COA.

* Deadline to apply for position of Islington Branch Library Assistant (part-time).

7:30 p.m. Zoning Board of Appeals public hearing on proposal for outdoor storage display by Marble and Granite at 270 University Avenue.

Thursday, December 16th

7:00 p.m. Free Winter String Concert by Westwood Public Schools elementary, middle school, and high school students, at Westwood High School.


Friday, December 17th

6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Boch Exotics in Norwood hosts its annual Toys for Tots live broadcast on WEEI (93.7 FM), to collect new, unwrapped toys for children. This is the last day to drop off donations at this location.

4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office hosts the last in a series of December “Holiday Happenings” for families at the Sheriff’s Braintree Public Safety Campus. The free event offers crafts, games, carolers, and Santa, while doubling as a food drive.


* Also, a reminder that winter parking restrictions are in effect through March 31, 2021. Residents should not park in the streets between 2 a.m. to 5 a.m., so that ice and snow removal can take place.
