With science indicating that weaning ourselves from fossil fuels is an imperative for the planet to remain habitable, members of Charles River Green Coalition together with Neponset Valley Progressives are holding a webinar on heat pumps on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Massachusetts is encouraging homeowners to retrofit their homes with heat pumps, offering zero-interest loans and generous incentives to motivate people to acquire them. Hear a step-by-step guide on taking advantage of the state's 0% interest loans and maximizing the rebate homeowners will receive for installing heat pumps.
Investing in heat pumps is not a straightforward proposition. Costs of installation and operation - especially operation - can be confusing and, on one's own, it's hard to get information about this relatively new technology.
The webinar will provide accurate information about heat pumps - what they do and how they work, as well as how to determine whether and when it makes economic sense to install them, and, if one does decide to go that route, how to choose a reliable contractor.

I am in complete support of the refurbishing and reopening of Norwood Hospital. I was working at Saint Elizabeth during this time. When steward took over our HOSPITAL group, Caritas Christie. They decimated not only our hospitals, but also two hospitals in the tiny nation of Malta.
Moderate or heavy snow showers, with a high of 38 and low of 24 degrees. Sunny during the morning, light sleet during the afternoon, ice pellets in the evening, clear overnight.
Senator Rush is correct re: the ambulatory services. One only has to drive on RTE 109/Westwood to see the number of out of town ambulances going through town at all times of the day. Then they have to get to Boston or Needham.
This is progress and I am glad to see the Select Board moving in the right direction. However, a majority of voters at last Monday's Special Town Meeting voted to recommend that the Select Board immediately cease its lawsuit against the Westwood Land Trust.
