Westwood Golf opened its season on August 28, 2022, with a win over Bellingham, 239-296. After a loss to the Hopkinton Hillers on August 29th, 244-233, the Wolverines came back two days later to prevail over the Holliston Panthers, 235-246.
Westwood High School PTO sponsored the annual Senior Breakfast this Thursday. It also announced its first fundraiser in more than two years, to be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in the Westwood High School gym. Mattresses and bedding are being sold at “significantly lower prices.”
Westwood Athletics is looking for a Boys JV Soccer Coach. Interested applicants should email Athletic Director Matthew Gillis at mgillis@westwood.k12.ma.us.
James McCarthy, Westwood’s Facilities Director has received the American Public Works Association 2022 Professional Manager of the Year Award in the category of Facilities & Grounds.
The Westwood Health Department will host a Flu Clinic on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking area of Westwood High School. The clinic is available to residents aged 3 years and older, and appointments through Wegmans Pharmacy are required. Click here for more information.
Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) and Norwood Police continue to investigate a case of animal cruelty and abandonment. Annie, a mixed-breed female dog, was reportedly found with her injuries as a stray in Norwood in the area of Route 1 around Ellis Avenue. WCVB shared a graphic video of Annie and her severe burns.
