Thanks to Westwood Artists for contributing its news to Westwood Minute.
Westwood Artists are hosting their last two events of 2022. An intrepid group of artisans will be braving the fickle December weather on the lawn in front of the Senior Center from 11 AM until 3 PM on Saturday, December 10, followed by a pop-up shop at Décor and More on Saturday, December 17.
On December 10, newcomer Susan Brady will be bringing a selection of rubber-stamped note cards to her first event with this group. She will be joining photographer Karen Cagan, painter Maureen Obey, ceramicist Lisa WB Walker, potter Jane Wojick, and knitter/weaver Kathy Zola. All six of these artisans live and work in Westwood.
Reflecting back on the past year of events, Kathy Zola has seen an uptick in participants and attendance at these events. She says, “There is a growing appreciation of the existing arts community here in Westwood. We have such a range of talent and skills, and it is so good to see our friends and neighbors come out to support us.”
Westwood Artists is an informal organization of makers living in Westwood MA. Any artist or artisan residing in Westwood is encouraged to take part in the increasing number of events and projects hosted by this group. I am in complete support of the refurbishing and reopening of Norwood Hospital. I was working at Saint Elizabeth during this time. When steward took over our HOSPITAL group, Caritas Christie. They decimated not only our hospitals, but also two hospitals in the tiny nation of Malta.
Moderate or heavy snow showers, with a high of 38 and low of 24 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Sunny for the morning, ice pellets during the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
Senator Rush is correct re: the ambulatory services. One only has to drive on RTE 109/Westwood to see the number of out of town ambulances going through town at all times of the day. Then they have to get to Boston or Needham.
This is progress and I am glad to see the Select Board moving in the right direction. However, a majority of voters at last Monday's Special Town Meeting voted to recommend that the Select Board immediately cease its lawsuit against the Westwood Land Trust.
