This weekend, see your neighbors shine on the stage! Westwood resident Thomasine Berg performs on the flute in a concert celebrating Jewish composers, Music by Mendelssohn, Bloch & Gershwin, in Newton. And Anaiya Chowdry takes to the stage in a Ramona Quimby production in Needham. At the same time, Westwood resident Elise Blanchard joins the cast of Something Rotten! in Walpole.
It's also time for the annual tradition of the Fishing Derby! Swing by Buckmaster Pond with your fishing gear for some fun, competition and prizes.
Westwood Young Women's Club also marks another annual event - spring - with its Spring Celebration, designed for children aged 6 and under.

Leventhal Sidman Jewish Community Center
Delight in the music of the Jewish composers Felix Mendelssohn, Ernest Bloch, and George Gershwin. Performing the works are Border Colleagues, a collaboration of three virtuoso musicians from Canada, Spain, and the USA who connect across geographic boundaries to celebrate music-making together. Thomasine Berg of Westwood (Flute) is the former Boston Globe classical music editor, Michael Kevin Jones (Cello) played for the royal family as a student, and Bruce Vogt (Piano) appears throughout the world as a soloist and a chamber musician. Walpole Footlighters Playhouse
Renaissance playwrights Nick and Nigel Bottom are having trouble drawing audiences to their shows because some other guy named William Shakespeare is suddenly the toast of the London theater community. Their friend Nostradamus tells them that the future of the theater is something called “a musical”. Despite thinking the idea is preposterous, the desperate brothers agree to try it. [more details]

Needham Community Theatre presents Ramona Quimby, based on the children’s books by Beverly Cleary. Ramona Quimby is a play filled with imagination, funny antics, family love and courage, and is a classic must-see for the whole family ages 5 and up! [more details]
