Things To Do around Westwood This Weekend: Friday, Oct 13 - Sunday, Oct 15 (Updated 10/14/2023)

Looking ahead to Friday and the weekend for things to do around Westwood...

On Friday, Westwood High School Field Hockey plays at home. Meanwhile, Westwood volleyball and football teams play away games in Ashland and Hopkinton, respectively. Soccer plays on Saturday in Dedham.

The civic-minded will want to take an opportunity to meet with Select Board Chair Marianne LeBlanc Cummings at the Westwood Town Democrats Meeting on Saturday. It's also a chance to learn about membership.

Saturday introduces a few early opportunities for festive fall and holiday shopping. The Pumpkins With A Purpose patch opens, with pumpkins to select for carving, cooking, or decor. Saturday also brings the first of a series of upcoming Westwood Artists marketplaces.

On Sunday, Westwood Chinese School's PTO holds a book and costume sale, a timely offering as Halloween approaches. Newton hosts a Harvest Fest with carnival and vendors.

Through the weekend, there's fun on a farm. Also, Swifties who missed Taylor Swift's live concert can see her perform her Eras Tour on the big screen.

This annual pumpkin sale returns, with net proceeds going to benefit local charities. The pumpkins you buy here are Pumpkins with a Purpose. Children can wander among possible selections of different sizes, and lingering for photos is welcome. [more details]
