On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in the early morning, Norwood Police obtained search warrants concerning two residents of Neponset Street in Norwood that resulted in their arrests for charges related to intent to distribute cocaine and amphetamine salts.

A 59 year-old man and 57 year-old woman, who are both residents of the same address on the 600 block of Neponset Street, were found with 3.2 grams of cocaine, and with amphetamine salts in quantities of 20 and 24, said Norwood Police Officer Andrew Jurewich. They were both arrested without incident. Both were charged with: (1) possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance; and (2) three counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance.

Bail was set at $5,000 for the man, who had a probation violation, and bail was revoked for the woman. The revocation of bail was likely due to a prior open case against the woman, said Officer Jurewich. The two were arraigned at Dedham District Court that afternoon.

Along with Norwood Police, detectives from Massachusetts Police Department and members of the Northern Norfolk Drug Task Force (NORPAC) assisted in this case, said Officer Jurewich.
