Editor's note (12/12/2023 12:30 a.m.): A road closure on Route 109 has ended that was originally reported on December 21, 2023 in the story, "Detours Designated as Route 109 at Medfield/Millis Line Closes Due to Flooding."
Route 109, which had been closed at the Medfield/Millis line due to Charles River flooding, is reopen as of Saturday afternoon, December 23rd, according to an announcement by Medfield Police on X and Millis Police on Facebook. The original Westwood Minute article appears below.

Charles River flooding closes portion of Route 109, forces detours
Route 109 at the Medfield/Millis line is currently closed, and will be closed indefinitely, due to flooding from the Charles River, announced local towns and police departments on social media in Westwood, Medfield, and Millis on December 21, 2023.
According to a Medfield Police and Westwood Police postings on X, detours will be as follows:
For westbound traffic headed from Medfield to Millis: Route 109 to Route 27 to Dover Road to Route 109.
For eastbound traffic from Millis to Medfield: Route 109 to Dover Road to Route 27.
The river is expected to crest Friday morning, December 22, 2023, and recede over the next two days.

I am in complete support of the refurbishing and reopening of Norwood Hospital. I was working at Saint Elizabeth during this time. When steward took over our HOSPITAL group, Caritas Christie. They decimated not only our hospitals, but also two hospitals in the tiny nation of Malta.
Senator Rush is correct re: the ambulatory services. One only has to drive on RTE 109/Westwood to see the number of out of town ambulances going through town at all times of the day. Then they have to get to Boston or Needham.
