A write-in candidate has succeeded in earning a seat as one of two elected Library Trustees, according to the tabulation of votes posted this week by the Westwood Town Clerk's office, following Westwood's Town Election on Tuesday, April 29th.

Tina Bronkhorst received 127 write-in votes, giving her the lead over a second write-in candidate- Denise Hebert, who received 64 write-in votes for Library Trustee.

Ms. Bronkhorst will join Paul Fitzgerald, the re-elected incumbent, as the elected official to fill the second of two available seats for Library Trustee.

Additionally, the vote tabulation provides additional insights to how Westwood residents voted for their Planning Board representatives in a race with four candidates and only two open seats. Michael Derderian won 736 votes and Maureen Collins-White won 500 votes to secure their wins. Trailing behind them were Nancy Hyde with 480 votes cast and Howard Messing with 362 votes.

Mr. Derderian was the top vote-getter in Precincts 1, 3 and 4. Ms. Hyde was the top vote-getter in precincts 2 and 5. Although Ms. Collins-White did not win any single precinct, and was behind Ms. Hyde in three precincts, her relatively much stronger support in Precincts 3 and 4 made up for her weaker showings in the other precincts, with the result that she led Ms. Hyde by 20 votes.
