We have a great weekend ahead, chock-a-block with local things to do! 

  • It's the annual First Parish of Westwood Yard Sale, where you may find that item you've been looking for (or didn't know you wanted!) for a great bargain.
  • Westwood Chinese School offers hours of free entertainment to the visiting public which is invited to come and enjoy performances by students in dance, song, martial arts, skits, and more.
  • If you've ever wondered about owning an electric vehicle, it's your chance to talk to local owners of EVs at Ev Cars & Coffee, hosted by the Westwood Environmental Action Committee and BiBi's Cafe and Bakery at Westwood High School.
  • Westwood Historical Society holds an Open House at the historic Fisher School, giving the general public the opportunity to view the building where third graders in Westwood usually get to experience life as a student in the 1800s.

And after the weekend is over, don't forget you have the opportunity to vote on issues of great important to residents in town, by attending Westwood's Town Meeting that will be held on Monday, May 19th, at 6:30 in the Westwood High School gym.

2025 Westwood Chinese School Annual Performance - Sun May 18 9:00 am

The public is invited to Westwood Chinese School's most important celebration of the year, from 9 AM until noon, which showcases the hard work and dedication of its students and teachers with performances from the student body. EV Cars and Coffee Informational session - Sun May 18 11:00 am

Westwood High School

The Westwood Environmental Action Committee (WEAC) and BiBi's Cafe & Bakery are hosting an "EV Cars & Coffee" event from 11 AM to 1 PM with local EV owners, which aims to educate Westwood residents about electric vehicles (EVs) and encourage greener transportation options. Westwood Historical Society Open House - Sun May 18 2:00 pm

The Fisher School

The Westwood Historical Society will host an Open House, open to the public, which will showcase the set-up for its popular School Days Program where third grade students experience a day in the life of students from the 1800's.  [more details]


Westwood Annual Town Meeting (Updated) - Mon May 19 6:30 pm

Westwood High School gymnasium

Check-in for Westwood's Annual Town Meeting will begin at 5:30 PM, followed by Resolutions and swearing in of new officials at 6:00 PM.  Town meeting business is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM. Residents will have the opportunity to vote on whether to fund the FS 1 project, which proposes a design for new construction for a fire station at 637 High Street, among other issues.[more details]

Buckmaster Pond

Adults and youth alike are invited to try their hand a catching a fish or more at Westwood's annual Fishing Derby. Entry fees apply for ages 16 and up, and kids 15 and under compete for free. [more details]

Newman School

 This timeless and timely story of family and love by Louisa May Alcott tells the story of the March sisters’ journey from childhood to maturity in Concord, Massachusetts during the American Civil War.

Rabies Vaccine Clinic - Sat May 17 10:00 am

Animal Rescue League of Boston

Walk-ins are welcome, and no appointments are needed for this free or low-cost rabies vaccine clinic that runs from 10 AM to 2 PM. Dedham residents can vaccinate their dogs and cats for free, and dog licensing will be available to them. Residents of other towns pay just a $10 fee for vaccinations. All attendees can get microchips for a $10 fee.  [more details]


Canton Heritage Festival - Sat May 17 10:00 am

Paul Revere Heritage Site

The 4th annual Canton Heritage Festival includes almost 100 vendors selling food and homemade/local goods, dozens of community organizations, games and activities for kids, live music and entertainment, our newest exhibit in the Barn, and much more! AAPI Film Series: Crazy Rich Asians - Sat May 17 2:00 pm

Westwood Main Library

For the first three Saturdays in May, Westwood Public Library celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month with a movie and fresh, hot popcorn. The third and final movie in the series is Crazy Rich Asians, a PG-13 movie directed by John Chu and based on the novel by Kevin Kwan. [more details]

Hale Education
