WBUR CitySpace Announces Fall 2025 Season of Conversations, Live Performances, Experiences and Guests

BOSTON, MA — WBUR CitySpace at The Lavine Broadcast Center has announced its fall 2025 season lineup, featuring a dynamic slate of conversations, live performances, hands-on workshops, culinary experiences and special guests. This season welcomes back fan favorites while introducing exciting new events that explore culture, community and creativity in Boston and beyond.

Fall highlights include notable names like bestselling author and New Yorker contributor Susan Orlean on her new memoir “Joyride”; CNN anchor Jake Tapper on his new book, “Race Against Terror: Chasing an Al Qaeda Killer at the Dawn of the Forever War”; a conversation on solar energy and climate change with “Here Comes the Sun” author and activist Bill McKibben; and the return of the wildly popular Curated Cuisine series featuring renowned chefs and food writers Rick Martinez, Dorie Greenspan and Joanne Chang.

This season also features political analysis with former national security adviser Jake Sullivan, live tapings of hit podcasts “Weight For It” and “Greeking Out” and beloved holiday programming, including our annual reading of “A Christmas Carol” and a special Christmas concert with acclaimed vocal ensemble Blue Heron.

  • Here Comes the Sun: World renowned activist Bill McKibben on fighting climate change with solar power (Sep. 8, 6:30–8:00 p.m.)
  • Curated Cuisine: Dip to dinner with 'Salsa Daddy' author and chef Rick Martinez (Sep. 15, 6:30–8:00 p.m.)
  • WBUR Member Night: Behind the scenes of On Point with host Meghna Chakrabarti (Sep. 17, 6:00–7:30 p.m.)
  • Stand Strong: A night of self-defense training and empowerment (Sep. 25, 7:00–8:30 p.m.)
  • The Makers: A celebration honoring emerging artists of color in Boston (Oct. 3, 7:00–9:00 p.m.)
  • Race Against Terror: Jake Tapper on the global hunt for an al-Qaida terrorist (Oct. 16, 7:30–9:00 p.m.)
  • Joyride: Susan Orlean on finding her creative calling and purpose (Oct. 17, 6:30–8:00 p.m.)
  • ’All the Empty Rooms’ film screening and conversation with CBS News correspondent Steve Hartman and director Joshua Seftel (Nov. 3, 7:00–8:30 p.m.)
  • Curated Cuisine: Exploring the craft of cocktails with America’s Test Kitchen (Nov. 10, 6:30–8:00 p.m.)
  • Curated Cuisine: Holiday baking with Dorie Greenspan and Joanne Chang (Dec. 8, 6:30–8:00 p.m.)
  • Blue Heron Presents: Christmas in 16th-Century Spain with Meghna Chakrabarti (Dec. 17, 7:00–8:00 p.m.)
