Police Log: Officer Narrowly Escapes Injury in Snowplow Incident, Juveniles Charged with Breaking and Entering Cars

Monday, February 2nd

Harassment after One Date

7:01 a.m. An out-of-town resident complained of harassment by a Westwood resident with whom he had only one date. He told police that he first received calls from her number that had no voice on the other end. After blocking her number, he reported receiving the same types of phone calls from other numbers. He believes she is generating fake numbers. Police advised the complainant of the option to petition for a harassment prevention order through the court system.

Walker Road Resident Alerted to Fraud after Receiving 1099 Tax Form from Uber

8:16 a.m. A resident of Walker Road informed police that he received a 1099 tax form sent by Uber for taxable wages of $8,530 for the three months of September through November 2025, although he had never worked for Uber.

Sunday, February 1st

Sherman's Way Resident Alerted to Fraud after Receiving 1099 Tax Form from Uber

5:22 a.m. A resident of Sherman’s Way reported fraud when he received a 1099 tax form from Uber, stating that he had made $17,000 in income from the company in 2025. However, the resident told police he had never worked for Uber or been an Uber driver.

Friday, January 30th

Dover Resident Charged for Shoplifting

4:36 p.m. Police responded to the Target store on University Avenue to speak with store staff who informed police that a suspect is believed to have attempted to steal $149 of merchandise before being intercepted by store staff. The suspect, a woman from Dover, is reported to have taken women’s and children’s clothing valued at $116 in a prior shoplifting incident on January 14. She will receive a summons to court for two counts of shoplifting by asportation.

Shoplifting for a Meal

6:56 p.m. Police received a report from Wegmans supermarket on University Avenue regarding a male suspect who exited the store with unpaid prepared food and a beverage. The suspect was intercepted by store staff and the items were recovered. The suspect refused to pay for over $50 in food from the store’s hot bar. The suspect is reported to have fled in a 2012 blue Prius rental from a company in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts.

Thursday, January 29th

Hit-and-Run on East Street Rotary

12:45 p.m. Police took a report of a hit-and-run on the East Street rotary. The complainant told police that on the evening of January 28th, he was attempting to exit the rotary when a black Jeep Wrangler entered the rotary from Interstate 95 South, struck his vehicle, then drove away. 

Fear of Stranger in Home

9:23 p.m. A resident of Colburn Street called police, fearing that a stranger was in the home. The resident had recently obtained a restraining order against another individual. Police responded and checked the residence, and found nothing amiss.

Wednesday, January 28th

Unhappy Customer Wishes Death and Disease on Company's CEO

4:29 p.m. Police responded to the Eversource headquarters on Station Drive where the company’s head of security told police that a customer had threatened the company’s chief executive officer in a phone call. Police listened to the recorded call and heard the customer asking for a payment plan. Upon being denied, the customer stated that the CEO had an income of millions and said he hoped the CEO would die from rectal cancer and AIDS.

Westwood Police Officer Narrowly Escapes Injury from Scrape with Snowplow

9:17 p.m. A Westwood Police cruiser was sideswiped by a snowplow passing close by, where just seconds before, an officer had been standing before entering the cruiser. The cruiser received minor damage, and the bumper was pulled off. The officer was not injured.

Tuesday, January 27th

Suspects Planned to Break and Enter Cars throughout Norwood and Westwood

4:08 p.m. Police received a report from employees of Audi Westwood that three individuals were entering multiple vehicles in inventory. Police located the suspects in their Honda Accord, parked in the dealer’s back lot. The young adult suspect, who was accompanied by his juvenile brother and his brother’s juvenile friend, informed police that the group was going through all dealership vehicles in Westwood and Norwood, in order to sit inside a few minutes and take pictures. Police noticed that the suspect’s Honda smelled like marijuana. The three individuals will each be summoned for breaking and entering.

Monday, January 26th

Snow is Not a Trespass

8:09 a.m. A resident of Strafford Road reported a neighbor was clearing snow by pushing it onto the neighbor’s property. Police informed the resident that the dispute is a civil, not criminal matter.

Assisting a Resident Cross the Street

8:27 a.m. Police received a call for assistance from a woman who told police that her elderly mother could not cross the intersection of Everett and Washington streets due to the snowbanks. Police responded to assist the elderly woman.

Resident Alleges Driver Said, "Go Back to Your Country"

9:07 a.m. A resident of Colburn Street informed police that as the resident was pushing snow from one side to the opposite side of the street, a snowplow operator became angered, and allegedly told the resident he was making the operator's work "look bad," and that the driver told the resident to “Go back to your country.” Police are informing Westwood’s Department of Public Works of the incident.
