This weekend brings live theater, books, and family fun: Westwood High School students take the stage with four performances of Big Fish from Thursday through Saturday; Westwood Public Library hosts a book and clothing swap event; Walpole Mall holds a Saint Patrick's Day book signing event; and The Peanuts Movie screens in Brookline.
Next week, community members can chat with town officials as Westwood Select Board holds its second office hour, hosted by board member Joe Previtera and Town Administrator Connor Read.
Westwood High School
Witches, giants, and mermaids take center stage in the musical “Big Fish,” created in the imagination of the show’s protagonist, traveling salesman Edward Bloom. Bloom is prone to telling tall tales – stories his son Will tries to unravel as Edward nears the end of his life. [more details]
Westwood Main Library
As part of the library's One Book, One Town series, library patrons are invited to bring donations of gently used books and clothing in good, usable condition and swap them for items contributed by others. Walpole Mall
Author Vincent Quealy explores the life of his paternal grandmother and the hardships of her family in Ireland under British rule in his book, Reflections of an Irish Grandson. Dropkick Murphy author Emily Sweeney is also on hand to sign her book that chronicles the life of a professional wrestler who put himself through medical school and opened Bellows Farm, an institution frequented by celebrities in the day, while serving recovering alcoholics alongside elite athletes in training.
