Pack of unleashed dogs around Lowell Woods
1:39 p.m. Police received a complaint that ten dogs were off-leash in the area of Sandy Valley Road. An officer checked the area, but it appeared that the dogs had departed.
Driving with a suspended license
7:36 p.m. A police officer conducting stationary traffic enforcement along Washington Street placed a query on a passing license plate and discovered the owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. A stop was made. The driver, a young man from Dedham, told the officer that he believed that his license was suspended in New Hampshire only, and not Massachusetts. He was issued a citation for operating a vehicle after license suspension. The man contacted a family member to drive the vehicle home.

Unleashed dogs again
11:37 a.m. A caller reported nine to ten dogs were off-leash in Lowell Woods, approximately ten minutes away from the parking area at the end of Sandy Valley Road. An officer responded but did not see any dogs in the parking area.
Missing AirPods in Package Mix-Up
12:05 p.m. A resident of Poplar Street reported a package theft. He had ordered Apple AirPods from Costco on December 12, 2021 and received a delivery from Costco three days later, but of a different item. Additionally, the package was not addressed to him, but to a neighbor. However, the man received an email that his AirPods had been delivered. He is attempting to resolve the situation with Costco and UPS.
Lost identification is followed by fraudulent credit card purchase
7:59 p.m. A resident of Providence Highway told police that he discovered that someone had used his credit card to purchase $7 worth of merchandise from a beauty supply store in Randolph. At that point, he realized he could not find the credit card and was unsure when it was last used.
On December 30, 2021, he had reported to police a loss of personal documents that included a passport, social security number and copy of birth certificate, which he thought may have been accidentally discarded during house cleaning.
Police advised him to check with credit reporting agencies and consider putting a watch or a freeze on his account(s). A detective is obtaining internal video footage from the beauty supply store, to review and see if he can spot a person making the $7 transaction.

Suspicious call with alleged retailer who asks for date of birth
3:51 p.m. A police officer was dispatched to a residence on Carroll Court to take a report of credit card fraud. The complainant had purchased clothing online and attempted a return by calling the company. The company asked the woman to provide name, address, date of birth, and credit card information, after which she was transferred to an automated answering service. Her suspicions were aroused and she contacted police.
The police officer determined that the phone number was likely a fraudulent number, and it did not appear on the company’s website. She has reported the credit card as stolen and placed a hold on the account.

Arrest for assault, battery, and disorderly conduct
7:55 p.m. Police were dispatched to Del Frisco’s Grille on University Avenue on the report of two women arguing in the parking lot. Police officers found two women. One was crying and the other was screaming in Spanish. Police learned that they had argued with each other and another person during dinner. As the officers were talking to the women, a man approached, resulting in greatly upsetting the woman who had been screaming. She approached him and screamed at him. Police physically separated her from the man as customers left the restaurant appearing alarmed.
The man informed police that the argument had begun over his refusal to order another bottle of wine for the table. The restaurant manager added information that members of this party had caused a scene with breaking glass inside and that the screaming woman had attempted to choke the crying woman while in the parking lot. She had also thrown a wine glass at the man during dinner.
Police arrested the woman who had been screaming. She is a Randolf resident and was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, assault and battery for choking the other woman, and disorderly conduct for screaming and alarming other people.

Responding to assault in Norwood
2:39 a.m. Police responded to the McDonalds on Providence Highway in Norwood, after receiving a report of a female being assaulted by a male. They found the pair, and the man was standing over the woman, but police separated them.
The woman claimed that the man pushed her, causing her to lose consciousness when her head struck the floor. Westwood Police requested a Norwood ambulance and Norwood Police arrived at the scene.Â
Norwood Police arrested the man, a 23 year-old from Las Vegas, Nevada, for assault. The woman, a 30 year-old from Winter Garden, Florida, was transported to a hospital.
Selective traffic enforcement results in arrest
5:36 p.m. A police officer conducting selective traffic enforcement around Washington and Clapboardtree streets, ran a check on a license plate and found that its registered owner had a warrant for his arrest from New Bedford District Court. The officer was able to visually match the driver to the registered owner and made the stop. The man was placed under arrest. Bail was set at $250, which he paid. He was released.
Suspicious character
6:36 p.m. A resident of Pond Street called police to report that a white male in his forties, wearing a black coat and gray hat, was on or around the property. The man had indicated that he had come to the home to address an electrical issue.
Police found no soliciting permit had been issued, and checked the area, but were unable to locate the man.

Identity theft
3:51 p.m. A resident of Smith Drive reported receiving two T-Mobile iPhones in October 2021 which she had not ordered. The paperwork that came with the delivery contained the resident’s social security number. Following that incident, she was billed $250 per month for phone service under her name and address. She had returned the phones to a local T-Mobile store, but the service charges continued to be applied up to at least $1,700. She was filing a police report, as required by T-Mobile to resolve her complaint.
Additionally, the woman had received a letter from a company stating that a credit card that she had applied for could not be processed without speaking directly to her. She noted that this was a fraudulent application.
Police advised the woman to contact credit reporting agencies, put a watch on her credit card for fraud, and file an online complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at identitytheft.gov.
