On Sunday afternoon, May 1, 2022, the Thomson family of Westwood dropped off a U-Haul size truck literally full of food to the volunteers at Westwood Food Pantry.

For the past few years during the month of April, the Thomson family has organized a Food Drive in honor of their son Eddie, who tragically passed away at the age of six. Providing meals for others was an important cause that Eddie believed in, and his family and supporters continue this beautiful tradition in the annual food drive.

The Westwood Public Schools, The Westwood Public Library and businesses including Roche Bros and Arch Dental hosted collection bins during the drive. A number of local groups including the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Westwood Extended Day and the Westwood Young Women’s Club assisted in organizing, collecting and sorting donations for the drive.

This donation of food along with additional monetary donations in honor of Eddie will make a significant contribution in assisting Westwood neighbors in need.
