Hale tells dirt bikers to take a hike

10:44 a.m. Two units responded to a report of two males driving motorized dirt bikes at Hale after failing to heed Hale employees’ request that they leave the property. The officers entered Hale and were flagged down by staff who directed the officers down a pathway. There, they found several additional members of Hale staff having a confrontation with the two riders. In the presence of the officers, the situation was calmed.

The two riders were juveniles from Canton who explained that they had left a friend’s house on Wilsondale Street in Dover, had gotten lost in Hale, and were trying to figure out how to get out.

Hale staff members reported concerns that the boys were riding too fast to be safe. There were approximately two hundred campers present at Hale at that time. Additionally, they noted that the boys failed to heed their prior admonitions. In the presence of police, a Hale supervisor advised both riders that they were considered to be in trespass and they would never be allowed on the property again. Two staff members escorted the boys off the property.
