Elizabeth Acevedo is a National Book Award winning author for Young People's Literature, the Carnegie medal, the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, among other honors.
She will discuss her novel-in-verse, The Poet X. The novel is about a young, Afro-Latina heroine who deals with a crush, pressure to obey the church, and her own feelings of frustration and passion which she puts into poetry.
