Note about Short-term Change in Westwood Minute Publication Schedule
Dear Readers,
I hope that you are enjoying the summer and all it has to offer, including the publication of local stories and events from Westwood Minute! Subscribers are used to receiving the Westwood Minute newsletter in your email inbox each day, and many readers also visit this site one or more times each day, so I wanted to give you the heads up about some short-term interruptions in my postings to the publication to the platform.
I've been happy and proud to be able to provide the community with a source of local news, published on a daily schedule, with rarely a pause, since the founding of Westwood Minute 4 years ago. Westwood Minute is now the #1 Google ranked source of news for the Westwood area, and has reached the milestone of over 30,000 pageviews per month. Westwood Minute is blessed to have the support of contributors, writers, and readers who have helped generate leads to help with the daily news writing. That hasn't changed, and I thank you!
Beginning a few days ago and through around mid-week to July 17 or so, I have an opportunity to spend some time on issues of personal interest outside of this publication. That being the case, you may have noticed a brief pause in new postings from me being published to this platform, and I just wanted you to know. I will look for opportunities to post in this upcoming time period, but it may be difficult to do so. I invite you to take a try at posting your own event to the calendar, notice to the community, or news article of any length! Posting guidelines and a tutorial are here. Thanks to Hale Education, The Christa McAuliffe Center, WestwoodWinds, and University Station for recently sharing their events in our event calendar. Thanks to reader Brian Haak, who also in this time, has posted comments in the ongoing community discussion regarding a new fire station.
Hopefully one day Westwood Minute will have the financial resources to be supported by a robust staff that can keep the reporting and publication of news articles going no matter the absence of any one person. If you enjoy Westwood Minute, if it provides something of value to you, if having a reliable, daily outlet for local news and events is important, then please consider supporting it. Thanks to all who are already supporters. I look forward to continue working together with you to help build and grow an informed local community!
Thanks and best,
Darlene
