Monday, June 14th
3:17 a.m. A police officer responded to a report of suspicious activity. A passerby reported seeing two men standing over another man who was lying on the ground in the Norfolk Golf Club parking lot. The investigating police officer arrived at the scene and found two men, employees of the golf club, standing over a woman who had too much to drink. The officer assisted the woman in contacting a relative to pick her up and take care of her for the evening.
Wednesday, June 16th
8:17 p.m. Police responded to a report by a Summer Street resident that the resident’s yard signs had been stolen. The signs advertised a seminar run by the resident and were valued at $20.
Friday, June 18th
3:28 p.m. Police arrived at the scene of a head-on collision at High Street and Reynolds Farm Way involving a Honda Accord and a Jeep Wrangler. A witness reported seeing the Honda Accord travelling west on High Street when it crossed the double yellow line and hit the Jeep Wrangler head-on. Both drivers, 2 passengers of the Jeep, and the single passenger of the Accord were taken to area hospitals. Police report that the driver of the Accord stated no knowledge of what had happened, and attributed the incident to a black-out. The driver did not appear to be under the influence. Both cars sustained heavy damage and were towed. The driver of the Accord was issued a criminal citation for negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
Sunday, June 20th
4:34 a.m. Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of High and Summer streets after receiving multiple calls from people hearing squealing tires followed by the sound of a crash. Officers found a disabled Ford F-150 pickup truck, heavily damaged on the front and passenger side, just west of Conant Road on High Street. The operator of the truck, a 19 year old white male resident of Medway, was sitting on the sidewalk next to the car. Police noticed he appeared intoxicated and administered a breathalyzer test, which he agreed to and passed. Police also found him in possession of a forged registry document, a felony. He was arrested and taken to the police station. The man was released later Sunday night.
2:31 p.m. Police officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a Shell Gas Station on Providence Highway near the Westwood and Norwood boundary line. A 46 year old white man from Warwick, Rhode Island, had arrived at the gas station, acting strangely. He assaulted the gas station attendant, stole a phone charger from the attached convenience store, and fled across Route 1 to the southbound side of the road. Police caught him in the Prime Acura parking lot. He was arrested and taken to the police station and was charged with assault and battery, unarmed robbery, vandalizing property, and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $340, but was unpaid, and he was held overnight. On Monday morning, he was transported to Dedham District Court.
