Sunday, May 8, 2022 is Mother's Day! Below is a selection of easy to access, local events around Westwood to help you plan for your Mother's Day weekend. This article is written with Mother's Day in mind, but the activities are also great for folks who are just interested in some local entertainment.

Introduce Mom to a taste of utopian, sustainable living at Mass Hort's Micro-Topia, or fill her garden with flowers from St. John Episcopal's annual plant sale.

If she's outdoorsy, take her fishing at Westwood's Fishing Derby, hiking with Westwood Community Trails, run together at Medfield's Run Like a Maverick 5K and Pancake Breakfast, or join her for yoga at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum.

If she's an art lover, Westwood Artists is having a pop-up sale and the Museum of Fine Art in Boston offers free admission on Sunday.

Animal lovers and music lovers also have options, too, with opportunities for free zoo admission and a dinner with live music.

And who doesn't love a freebie that's a gift to every reader in the family? Saturday is Free Comic Book Day at New England Comics in Norwood.
