What's Going on with All the Road Work?

Westwood's Department of Public Works is currently undertaking numerous road improvement projects, following the vote by residents in Town Meeting approving a road improvement bond. Road improvements are expected to be completed this September, before Labor Day.

Decorative crosswalks on Route 109/High Street have already been completed, and other improvements in the works are:

- Granite curbing on Hartford and High Rock streets,

- Improving the Clapboardtree Street and Winter Street intersection

-  Improving the network of sidewalks on Pond Street

- Updating all curb ramps for American with Disabilities Act compliance

- Sidewalk enhancements from East Street Bridge to Smith Drive.

Additionally, every year DPW undertakes street repaving, and this year is no different. This summer, the streets that are being repaved are as follows:

- Pheasant Hill neighborhood

- Orchard Circle

- Old Stone Road

- Chester Avenue

- Downey Street (from Canton Street to Smith Drive).
