League of Women Voters Hosts 2022 Westwood Candidate Forum on WMC

In advance of Town Election, the League of Women Voters will be hosting a Westwood Candidate Forum on April 13 2022 at 7:00 p.m., to be livestreamed by Westwood Media Center (WMC) at https://youtu.be/1Uz7IE31mhk. In addition to the livestream by WMC, the Candidate Forum will also be broadcast live on Comcast 12 and Verizon 42.

The Candidate Forum will include the candidates running in the two contested races in this election cycle. Incumbent Thomas McCusker and Philip (“Phil”) Giordano are competing for a seat with a one-year term on Westwood’s Planning Board. Three candidates - Incumbent Anthony (“Tony”) Mullin, Heather Morrison, and Dorothy (“Dori”) Parmalee - are running for two seats with three-year terms on Westwood’s School Committee.

Residents can suggest questions for the candidates for either office by accessing the Google form at https://bit.ly/WWFORUM22. Suggested questions are due to April 11, 2022. The moderator, a non-resident who will be selected by the League of Women Voters, will chose what questions she will ask the candidates.

The event format is not yet finalized, but as of now, there are tentative plans for Planning Board candidates to be interviewed first, followed by School Committee candidates. The program could last 1.5 to 2 hours, but the duration of the program could depend on what questions are submitted.

Thanks to Ms. Sheila Hanley, participant on the Steering Committee of the League of Women Voters, for sharing this news with Westwood Minute.
