Stop by Thurston Middle School from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for curbside drop-off of nonperishable food donations, and volunteers will help unload donations from your car. Alternatively, residents who received a flyer offering doorstep pick-up by a Cub Scout can leave donations by the front door at 8:00 a.m. for a scout to come by to pick them up.
The most needed food items are: canned fruits and vegetables, canned tuna, baked beans, condiments, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salad dressings, cookies, crackers, peanut butter and jelly, pancake and cake mixes, maple syrup, pasta and pasta sauce.
Other needed non-food items are: tootpaste and tooth brushes, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, soap, and adult sanitary products (size large and XL).
Donations are also always accepted at the Westwood Food Pantry bin near the checkout area Roche Bros in Westwood and the Westwood Council on Aging at 60 Nahatan Street, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

These are great strides in addressing concerns about a lack of openness and two way dialogue raised by Westwood citizens. Thanks to the Select Board and to Mr. Read for listening and acting.

In promulgating the public comment policy, the Select Board has taken a big step towards showing willingness to engage in conversation with Westwood residents about the many important issues at hand—currently, the Fire Station 1 and the budget.
