Westwood's Finance and Warrant Commission is holding a hearing to receive public comment on potential warrant articles being prepared for sponsorship by Westwood's Select Board, to put to resident vote at a Special Town Meeting on January 17, 2024. Those potential warrant articles are:
1. Allocating $2.1 million of free cash for the design, preparation, and procuring bids for construction of Fire Station 1
2. Debt Housekeeping - Fire Department Multipurpose Vehicle
3. "Miscellaneous Article"
Scheduled presenters are Select Board Chair Marianne LeBlanc Cummings, Town Administrator Christopher Coleman, Assistant Town Administrator/Finance Director Stephanie McManus, Assistant Town Administrator/Human Resources Director Molly Kean, members of the Select Board, town staff, and representatives from Dore and Whittier.
Directly after the public input opportunity, FinCom members are scheduled for a vote on the Select Board warrant articles.

First of all, the intersection improvements are scheduled for the upcoming years and they are not related to Westwood at all.
The plaza on 109 where the Post Office is located would be a prime site for a modern development. It is a relic from the 1950#. Why haven’t the town planners sought a project for that location?
This is Route 1, the most heavily commercialized corridor in the region, and calling this an “existential threat” isn’t based in reality.
