Thanks to the Dedham-Westwood Water District for contributing this news to Westwood Minute.

Effective Friday, September 1st, the Dedham-Westwood Water District will rescind voluntary Stage 1 water restrictions which have been in place since May 15th this year.

“This summer, we have experienced a significant amount of rainfall. These wet conditions have kept our sources more than replenished, enabling the District to forgo water restrictions earlier than usual,” said water district Executive Director Blake Lukis. Last year, the water district ended voluntary water restrictions in October.

“I would like to thank all of our customers who diligently made the conscious effort to conserve water by voluntarily complying with this year’s restrictions," said Mr. Lukis.

Now that the Stage 1 water restrictions have been lifted, outdoor watering is no longer limited to two days a week for Westwood and Dedham customers. Customers can feel free to use water hoses to wash their cars.

However, customers are encouraged to practice conservation efforts year-round inside and outside their homes. Learn helpful tips to conserve water on the water district's website, Facebook, Twitter/X, and Instagram.
