Thanks to Westwood Community Chest for sharing this news with Westwood Minute.
On Sunday night, December 8th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., participants in Westwood Community Chest's third annual Luminary Night will help to set the town aglow, as they place paper bags containing battery operated tea lights along sidewalks, fences, doorsteps and outside homes, in support of the organization's efforts to raise funds for grants to assist Westwood residents in need.
Last year, WCC provided over $140,000 in emergency funding to grant applicants. WCC grants have aided the elderly, individuals and families alike, in times of job loss or other financial crisis. Children are also supported by WCC campership grants which help make safe summer activities more affordable.
Anyone can participate in Sunday's Luminary Night by purchasing a $20 luminary kit from the following locations: Décor & More, The Bean Farm, Neroli Mercato, and the WCC website.
The rain date for Luminary Night is Sunday, December 15, 2024.
Light freezing rain, with a high of 35 and low of 20 degrees. Sunny during the morning, overcast for the afternoon, clear for the evening,
To the Board (or what's left of it), this continuous behavior of placating the residents is insulting.
Please don't blame Joe. Everyone knows it has always been 2 against 1 since day one of his (elected) term.
I am in complete support of the refurbishing and reopening of Norwood Hospital. I was working at Saint Elizabeth during this time. When steward took over our HOSPITAL group, Caritas Christie. They decimated not only our hospitals, but also two hospitals in the tiny nation of Malta.
